Alcohol fuel mainly refers to ethanol and methanol gasoline, it is of great significance on alternative fuels and industrial production that analyze to complex methanol gasoline of element and content accurately and rapid. The paper establishes an analytical method that use of ethanol as an internal standard to menstruate the methanol content of methanol gasoline by using gas chromatography. Through the experiment, checking the split ratio and valve switching time on the experimental results, determining the optimal experimental conditions; the method was also conducted to verify the accuracy and precision.Although alcohol clean fuel replaces traditional gasoline and diesel oil can reduce the traditional conventional emissions, but their unconventional emission of pollutants—formaldehyde is often higher than the traditional engine of the level, so it has harmful effects to environment and human health. In this paper, widely refers to the relevant research results and literatures at home and abroad, focusing on the physical and chemical properties of methanol, formaldehyde testing method, the current vehicle emissions and the impact factors ,gives an objective analysis of this issue that people concerned. In this paper, conducts petrol, methanol gasoline, ethanol gasoline and ethanol diesel emissions of formaldehyde, access to a large number of experimental data, analyses the results and methods and educes the relevant conclusion. The result shows that gasoline, diesel and all kinds of blend produce formaldehyde emission which increases with the in creation of the proportion of alcohol; in addition, gasoline has more formaldehyde emission than diesel's. The formaldehyde emission goes high first and then goes down with the increasing of the engine speed increasing on one fuel; dual catalytic conversion could reduce formaldehyde emission in some degree. There is a lot of formaldehyde emission data about alcohol fuels for the future development of combustion systems and vehicle emission standards formulated to provide scientific basis.Furthermore, In order to change the motor fuel flexibly, the paper also introduces a flexible fuel controller which is developed by Chang'an University, After the car install this product, which Can not only burning unleaded petrol, but also a variety of flammable methanol and ethanol gasoline, and the performance may always maintain the best condition. By comparing a engine fired M85 methanol gasoline and RON93 petrol which were installed a flexible fuel controller, we can see that the conventional vehicle emissions CO, HC emissions have been reduced, the NOx emissions have no change basically.
