Turbocharge is the most effective measure for enhancing engine's power and improving the economy. Gasoline engine with turbocharger is of great significance on the energy conservation and improve the engine performance. Turbocharge is an important application of high-altitude aircraft engines. Environmental conditions on the high-altitude aircraft engines have special requirements of power recovery. At present, small aviation piston engine technology is mature abroad, but domestic are committed to the research. This paper carried out research work on high-altitude performance, optimal matching of aviation piston turbo-engine.On the basis of selecting China-made parts and components, a turbocharged piston aviation engine simulation model was made in GT-POWER. The model was compared with ROTAX 914 to verify the credibility of the model, and proved to be correct. Different conditions of engine performance prediction were done, and the results are reasonable.In order to provide the basis for optimum design of engine systems and the selection of optimization variables, parameters of the main structure and operation parameters in intake/exhaust system, combustion system, pressurization system and cooling system are changed and several simulations were done. Analyzed the various systems of different parameters on engine performance and the impact of the law, providing the basis for optimize research.Prediction of the aero-engine height performance was finished in the special work environment. Considering that the compressor performance changes with the altitude, the matching simulation of engine and compressor was carried in different altitudes. A joint operation line of engine and compressor was acquired. Then, effect of height on turbo-engine was calculated, and results showed that with the elevation increasing engine overall performance decline.Coupling the GT-POWER engine model and optimization software modeFRONTIER, optimization in intake/exhaust system was carried, with volumetric efficiency as the objective. The results showed that the engine can optimize the intake/exhaust system to improve the volumetric efficiency, thereby improving the performance of the engine. Then, the engine's continuous performance was optimized with fuel consumption rate as its optimization objective. The results showed that increasing of the air-fuel ratio, compression ratio and the pressure ratio is conducive to the reduction of fuel consumption rate, but at the same time heat load and mechanical stress will increase, which enable the engine deflagration occurred.
