The coating process,friction and wear properties,component and engineering application of PDR nano-anti-wear protective agent(abbreviated as PDR)and DJB-823 protective agent(823)were investigated systematically in this paper.Firstly, the influence of coating process on the quality of two coatings was concluded. The micro hardness of coating and the component of PDR and 823 were studied in the thesis by using the durometer and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometry(FTIR).It is found that the micro hardness of coating do not increase obviously. Interestingly, the component of PDR and 823 films show similar chemical groups, such as CH 2,C = O and OH . Combined with glass transition temperature Tg and melting point Tm by using Differential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC),polyethylene wax is determined to be the main component of PDR and 823.Secondly, friction and wear properties of PDR are highlighted. From the data of friction and wear experiment, the conclusions are drawn as follows:â‘ Compared lower load and speed, better friction properties,more stable process and less noise is obtained on high load and speed condition.â‘¡the wear mass loss of PDR increased with the improvement of load, which decreases firstly then enhances with the increase of velocity under the certain load.â‘¢The friction coefficient of PDR coating is lower and stable than those of uncoated ones. Furthermore, the wear mass loss of PDR coating is small. And excellent anti-wear properties are prominent resulting from the increase in load and speed.â‘£Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM)was employed to examine the worn surface. It is shown that the wear mechanism of PDR includes abrasive wear,brittle creep fracture because of plastic exhausted,massive tearing and rupture of the surface layer.Finally, the practical application of PDR and 823 is presented. Experiment data show that the quality of yarns can be improved when traveler and rings are coated with PDR and 823.Furthermore, the lifetime of mould which covered 823 is also prolonged.
