| Guided by the basic principles of ecology,landscape aesthetic and environmental behaviors,through the analysis of structure and functions of green space for different residential areas in Hefei,a comprehensive appraisal system for residential green environment has been established based on multiple aspects,and a quantitative analysis of comprehensive benefits for residential green areas was made in the paper,with a view to provide some useful practices and information to appraisal of comprehensive benefits in residential green areas.Based on the results of the appraisal,residents demand levels and designed elements of green landscape has been analysed and provided with some useful suggestions.Main contents are as follows:1 Green space structure and function of three residential areas in Hefei Using technology of GIS combined with field survey did in 2007.Hefei's Aerial photos image data of 2004 was interpreted,then corresponding geographic information system database was established.Based on those,selected structure and function index, such as green coverage,the per capita green area,species diversity,aesthetic,recreation, human comfort,ecological functions,comprehensive benefits in three residential areas has been analysed.The results showed that:green coverage of three residential areas are all more than 40 percent,and XiYuan green coverage rate reached 49%,which fully indicated that green space can effectively improve local micro-climate.The per capita green area of MengYuan and HuPo reached the basic requirements and XiYuan only 8.91m~2,reflects the green space in early planning of residential construction was relatively small.Plant species diversity of three residential areas have reached more than 0.9,it shows that all of them have higher richnese and evenese relatively.Besides,there are some differences in the composition of tree species in three residential green area.Moreover,in the paper aesthetics investigation and appraisal to three green spaces located in residential areas developed in different time was carried on.The results indicated that it is the MengYuan that aesthetics appraisal is listed at the best.Among all factors,people had a strong preference to landscape with nice harmony to its physical environment,and the color bright of trees was another important factor.City dwellers have strong recreation expectation,that of taking a rest,doing health activities and breathing fresh air are the most.Activities in the green land are comparatively various too,mainly about having a rest and taking a walk.Moreover,resident activities in green space related significantly to characteristics,functions and facilities of the space.The more various the function is,the more abundant the activity is,and the higher satisfaction is as well.Based on a survey of human comfort,the author found that people feel uncomfortable around the square with pavement,but they will feel comfortable in green land.MengYuan,away from the city centre and near to Forest Park in the city suburbs,has significantly higher air humidity than that of both XiYuan and HuPo located in city centre district of.Among three residential areas,because of its higher green coverage,XiYuan performs better as compared with other two quarters,such as clean air and other ecological benefits.2.Appraisal of comprehensive benefits in different residential green spacse in HefeiCombined qualitative with quantitative,subjective and objective evaluation methods, a comprehensive evaluation system being used for green landscape of residential district has been build,then comprehensive evaluation has been launched in three samples.It provides some new ideas and proposals for design of green landscape elements in the residential area.The results showed that:MengYuan was listed at the highest according to score, followed by XiYuan and HuPo.It means that MengYuan's green landscape structure and layout more rational,the comprehensive situation of green space is the best,It is because it close to Shushan Forest Park,compared to the two old residential districts in urban centres, MengYuan's air quality,buildings and the overall visual effect of green spaces are more innovative and harmonious.XiYuan is relatively weak in aesthetic appraisal,but a more reasonable distribution of its green space.Although extensive use of green trees,the green coverage rate and species diversity were relatively low.In addition,the small public open space also made its comprehensive evaluation of the minimum.Thus,the overall benefit of green space is decided by multiple factors,considering the impact of a single factor is unreasonable.Finally,basis on the evaluation of residential green areas,residents living demand have been discovered for five levels,namely,living needs,security needs,social and leisure needs,aesthetic needs.For meeting the needs of residents,entities elements of green landscape design have been recommended.
