Hakka-colony architecture is a concentrated reflection of Hakka culture in residential construction; it is a rather large familial architecture complex , a peculiar colony architecture style produced by Hakkas under the particularly natural and social background, specifically historical environment and psychological state of survival as well as their commonly aesthetics pursuit.This paper will then stretch itself to make a study on the Hakka-colony architecture by analyzing its emerging background, its main types and the features of its environmental art. Based on the research into the development and culture of Hakka ethnic group, this paper will be employed to analyze the emerging background of Hakka-colony architecture from the environmental and social aspects and make a investigation on the culture and features of Hakka-colony architecture. By analyzing the features and layout of the main types of Hakka-colony architecture, the paper will then unfold its study on the various aspects of the environmental art of Hakka-colony architecture such as the space design, landscape design, and decorative design. This paper is going to try to explore a creative method of environmental art design, which will conform to the Chinese national conditions as well as represent the local features, so as to provide any inspiration or reference for the ongoing new rural reconstruction and the creation of human settlements.
