As the development of the city constructions, the structure designers are more and more facing the repair and strengthening of concrete structures. There are many reasons that the structure must be repaired,such as the engineering quality dissatisfy the demand of the design,the change of the usage function,the increment load of the fitment,etc.,as a matter of fact, the only reason is that the concrete structures which are not strengthened before dissatisfy the need of the function of the structures. The thesis is to offer efficiency and dependable method of strengthening to a industrial workshop. The building was founded in 1960s,which was almost 50 years ago. To prolong its using life and to prevent wasting money,the company chose to strengthen it but not to rebuild it.Repair and strengthening of buildings is developing rapidly in China in the past years. Enclosing is the addition of concrete and steel reinforcement (both longitudinal and transverse) to an existing column. Because this method is economical and easy to handle,it is widely used in China. Along with the development of computer and the perfection of the finite element theory,applying FEM to study reinforced concrete structure which has become a study hotspot in domain of structure engineering. As an effective numerical analysis means,FEM has more and more important action in analysis of reinforced concrete structures with enclosing concrete. In this thesis,one mean is studied to establish finite element model of the reinforced concrete structure with enclosing concrete that using the general finite element analysis software ANSYS. The finite element model of the reinforced concrete structure with enclosing concrete by this means is set up,and then the numerical analysis of reinforced concrete column with or without enclosing concrete which is in constant load is carried out,finally the failure load of the reinforced concrete column with enclosing concrete is discussed.Through the analysis of the FEM,one can see that the computing simulation results are with a good agreement with the experimental results,that can truly reflect the behaviors of the concrete column with enclosing concrete, and the computing simulation results reflect that the enclosing method is very effective.
