Capsule endoscope is a non-invasive micro diagnostic apparatus used in gastrointestinal tract. Its development is along with the IC (Intergrated Circuit) technology, wireless communication technology and MEMS (Micro Electro-Mechanical System) technology. It overcomes the disadvantages for traditional endoscope and fulfills the diagnosis of the whole small intestine. Capsule endoscope has become an important issue in the research of medical instruments. There have already been several mature products. M2A from Israel first came into the market in 2002. China also did a lot of research on this field. However, the existing capsule endoscopes have high costs and limited functions, and the size is too big for kids. In addition, there are a lot of issues to be solved in research. Thus, it is critical to conduct research on key technology related to the capsule endoscope so as to share the market and reduce the final costs for many patients. This paper aims at reducing the high cost and expanding the functions of capsule endoscope. The circuit design and micro systems of wirelessly signal sensing are presented based on off-the-shelf chips. The approach of SiP (System in Packaging) based MCM (Multi Chip Module) technology is proposed to realize the micro system. Meanwhile, the paper comes up with a three dimensional driving system with a rotational magnetic field. The research includes the three parts below:Part one is the circuit design. The wireless sensing of image and temperature signals is realized. Here we take the imaging quality and transmission data rate into consideration.Part two is Multi Chip Module design for capsule endoscope. We discuss the MCM technology and electronics elements of capsule endoscope, and propose the MCM structure design and processing based on SiP technology to replace the high cost and likely low yield SoC (System on Chip) technology.Part three is active driving control with a rotational magnetic field for capsule endoscope. We design the signal generating system for rotational magnetic fields by applying a certain mode of magnified signals to three pairs of helmholtz coils. The stress in the intestine, the generation principle of rorational magnetic field, the arithmetic design of driving control and its implementation system are elaborated. Among which, the implementation system includes the parts of signal generation, amplifying and compounding.
