With the continuous development of the modern construction in urban, a large number of deep foundation pit have appeared. Although many scholars, engineers and technicians have already worked a lot in the displacement-controlling of deep foundation excavations recent years, however, difficulty remains to be solved in correlation among the deformation of the retaining Structures, soil deformation around the excavations and the displacements of adjacent structures. At first, the phenomena and mechanism of the deformation of the foundation pit is analyzed, and the methods that are commonly used to calculate the deformation of the foundation pit at present are introduced in this paper. Then the primary principle and calculation approaches of the finite element of the deep foundation pit are referred to. Base on this, the three-dimensional deformation behavior of foundation pit is systematically analyzed with the aid of the large-scale software ABAQUS based on FEM. The deformation behavior of different bracing, excavation step by step, excavation by only one step and the three-dimensional influence of the size of the foundation pit have been researched. At last, deep foundation excavations, bracing structures and adjacent structures are studied as an integrated system. The construction process of the typical deep foundation excavation is simulated and analyzed with the aid of large-scale software ABAQUS. The numerical simulation is carried under different conditions, such as the different number of floor of the structure; the different distance between deep foundation excavations and the adjacent frame structure, the different direction of the structure. Further more, we find the law of absolute settlements and different settlement of adjacent structures, and compared the simulated results with survey results in site, the conclusions that are valuable for designing and construction of deep foundation engineering are found. The research which I have done indicates that ABAQUS used as numerical simulation instrument for deep excavation and the effect of deep excavation is feasible.
