With rapid development of economy and society, more and more high-rise buildings are built in recent decades. For growing requirements of the high-rise building function, how to evaluate and ensure the structural reliability in the seismic response is a very important topic. As well known, the structure is becoming more and more complex to satisfy more and more functional requirements. As a result, some new requirements in safety are put forward for design and analysis of these complex high-rise buildings. To this end, this dissertation aims at anti-seismic dynamic analysis on a high-rise building structure, and the works mainly include:Firstly, static analysis and modal analysis for the complex high-rise buildings have been performed. By static analysis, the displacements, stresses, strains, and forces in structure are determined. Based on these, the modal analysis is carried out to determine the vibration characteristics of the structure by participation factor, modal coefficient, and characteristic of modes in the excitation direction.Secondly, the elastodynamic analysis, which is the fundamental part of structural design, has been performed under normal earthquake. The main works are focused on three aspects, i.e. (1) the response spectrum analysis to determine the dynamic response of structure and calculate displacement and stresses for structural design; (2) the element analysis to determine the structural weak parts and to check structural strength and deformation capacity; and (3) the time-history analysis to determine the time-varying displacements, strains, stresses, and forces in the structure under normal earthquake. Based on these, higher value that is the result of the response spectrum analysis or the average of many time-history analyses is suggested as the design parameters.Lastly, according to the two-stage seismic design, elastoplastic dynamic analysis has been performed by push-over method under severe earthquake, and the force vs displacement curve is obtained. According to target displacement as a benchmark for the second push-over, structural deformation characteristics are given, and anti-seismic performance of structure also is evaluated.
