As the development of submarine technology, the depth of submarine is become more and more, and the importance of the safety of the structure also becomes more and more. It should be think much of. In this paper, Compared the standards of strength and stability and it's calculation methods based on submarine rules in our country and ABS of America, then analyze the difference of the two calculation methods and the reasons of bring the error. Compared and analyze the difference of the judgment methods about the strength and stability between the two countries at the same time, and the emphasis is the difference of the judgment methods about the stability of cylindrical shell. Analyze the factors that influence the safety of submarine cylindrical shell at last. In this paper, we are also giving the calculated examples; there can prove the reliability more of the results that analyzed front.The influence of the initial geometric imperfection is very important. In this paper, The influence of initial geometric imperfection on load-carrying capacity of submarine cylindrical shell is researched in this paper. The submarine rules about calculation of load-carrying capacity of submarine cylindrical between our country and ABS is compared and analyzed, and the difference of the standards of calculation and control for initial geometric imperfection in the two rules is also discussed. Meanwhile, the authors compare the results of series numerical calculation and finite element analysis. It shows the property and disciplinarian of influence on initial geometric imperfection. The control of imperfection is also discussed. This can offer some suggestion of designing and evaluating for submarine cylindrical shell.As the development of the reliability, its excellence has been show compare to the confirmed method of traditional. In this paper, an analysis and calculation method of reliability of submarine cylindrical pressure hulls is researched in this paper. It's to use a method which uses Genetic Algorithms (on a failure surface composed of several failure functions) to search design point of the most failure probability to get the value of reliability index. An applied computer program is developed, which has good astringency, stability and in common use. Meanwhile, the authors adopt the method that compared the method of safety criterion given by deterministic design rules and calculate the reliability index of corresponding structures as the standards to establish the criterion of reliability.
