| Traffic congestion is becoming more and more serious. To solve the problem, the balance between traffic demand and traffic supply should be reached. Traffic demand management can improve the condition of traffic congestion by changing travel mode, travel route, travel time and so on. Road congestion pricing is a main measure of traffic demand management and works well in improving the condition of traffic congestion.Value of drivers' commuting travel time is an important parameter for implementing and assessing road congestion pricing projects. This paper probes into the definition of the value of drivers' commuting travel time and its research method. Route choice model based on travel time and travel cost is established to calculate the value of drivers' commuting travel time.The data on drivers' travel route choice is essential to calculate the value of drivers' commuting travel time. Stated preference survey is used to get the data. The orthogonal method is used to reduce the number of questions in the process of designing questionnaire.Logit model is used to estimate the value of drivers' commuting travel time by using stated preference data from drivers in Dalian city and gets the value of drivers' commuting travel time which is 24.58RMB/h.To overcome IIA drawback of Logit model, Mixed Logit model which time parameter is a negative constant and cost parameter has a negative lognormal distribution is established. Monte Carlo simulation is used to convert Mixed Logit model to the relevant Logit model. Estimation result by Mixed Logit model indicates that the value of drivers' commuting travel time has a lognormal distribution whcih parameters are 2.73 and 1.09.Comparision of two estimations indicates: the values of t-statistic of parameters are significant in both Logit model and Mixed Logit model, but Mixed Logit model estimation has a better value of goodness-of-fit index than Logit model. |
