With the development of the ocean engineering, especially in the offshore oil drilling and the international Ocean Through Transport, more and more large structures are required. With regard to the restrictions, large structures are built on land, launched by a barge when it is completed, then assembled and fixed in the water at last. With the change of gravity center and external conditions during floating, it is necessary to dynamically calculate and adjust the ballast fluid level. At present, the domestic large structures are launched relying on engineers' experience, therefore, there are a number of artificial errors and uncertainties; the design and research on ship stowage planning system focus on computers to solve calculation problems, however, the investigations on the automatic stowage planning are still relatively rare. To improve the efficiency and security of stowage planning, it is essential to design a automatic loading system. This system should meet the various demands of both barge and products.This paper mainly includes:(1) The floating state, stability, strength calculation and the checking methods from the loading process are mainly discussed; at the same time ,the solution of engineering which is intimately associated with loading system is described ;(2) Explain the design idea of the launch barge's automatic stowage planning system, and set out the design plan based on the situation. Meanwhile, demonstrate solving balance equations algorithm to achieve automatic loading.(3) By using Visual Basic program language, design a launching barge automatic loading system which based on the data of a specific launching barge. This system, with easy-to-use man-machine interface, can not only realize pre-loading calculations, but also complete real-time loading;(4) Contact with the trend of development, some advising issues are given.
