Members of light-gauge steel system can be made in factory by machine and sold in the market. Light-gauge steel system has many merits such as easy to standardize and model , environmental protective,quick to build, high performance price ratio. It has been formed an integral industrial chain and relative codes for designing and constructing of light-gauge steel system in foreign country. The research of this system which has a broad market in our country is in the starting stage. Resistant performance of light-gauge steel composite wall depends on many factors. To accelerate the step of light-gauge steel system research, it's necessary to find a reasonable and effective model for this system. The model should embody the relationship of steel frame, OSB and connection behavior.Lateral resistant performance of light-gauge steel composite wall depends on factors such as OSB, connection behavior, braces, steel frame, and size of wall. A steel frame with OSB could gain diaphragm effect and highly increase the capacity of the wall in lateral resistance. The model of composite wall was simplified in this article and the simulation of connection behavior was highlighted in the model. The comparing between model and experiment of light-gauge steel composite wall gains a good result. A new steel system called "web steel system" had been calculated using SAP2000 with API and resulted in lateral resistant capacity and relevant deflection. Analysis on the factors of lateral resistant performance was done subsequently.The simplified method of calculating shear strength of light-gauge steel composite wall was analyzed. And the equation based on assumption of the simplified method was carried out. Correctional parameters of equation were calculated by comparing with finite element result and experimental result. The distance between studs was considered in a new equation by analyzing the link output of SAP2000 and the new equation was proved by finite element result and experimental result too. The simplification of OSB as tension-compression bars was discussed and simplified shear stiffness equation was gained. Correctional parameters of shear stiffness equation were calculated by comparing with finite element result and experimental result.
