Research Architectural Design Starting From The Urban

Facing the high-speed economical development in social transitional period of China, and with the rapid development of urbanization, several problems appeared in the practice of urban construction. The separating relationship between buildings and urban is one of the serious problems. The buildings and urban are separatedly developped. Urban lacks context and personality, as well as efficient and reasonable functions. Urban control and architectural design can hardly have direct relationship in nature. The separation is fundamentaly caused by the unclear roles of buildings in urban composition. Especially in the situation of diversified interests in urban construction, and stressing sustainable development and a conservation-minded society, it becomes urgent to resolve this problem.This paper tries to alleviate the constractions between buildings and urban through establishing a pattern of architectural design starting from urban, and to find out the efficient way promoting their links.Starting from the definition, nature, attribute, composition, and such concepts of urban and urban buildings, this paper analyses and sets forth related factors in urban construction. It is proposed that buildings are one of the part of urban system and it is needed to establish the opinion of architectural design starting from urban. Then through analysing the related factors in urban construction and theories of architecture, the characteristics of complexity and contradiction in urban construction are pointed out. Through analysing and interpreting the principals of system theory and game theory, this research of architectural design starting from urban is supported by above theories and quotes. Then the design principles are also proposed.Then, four stages of the pattern in architectural design starting from urban are established. Those are analysis and composition, optimal design, choosing by comparision, implementation, feedback, and correction. The design pattern is integrating, ordered, dynamic and communicating. In various stages in this pattern, quantitative (the introduction of model analysis) and qualitative methods (the introduction of composition analysis) are used to establish corresponding relationship.The strategies of architectural design starting from urban are also researched. thoughts and suggestions are proposed from two facets of urban design technical strategy as the designing base and supporting strategy as the managing base. Based on above researches, projects of Chongqing Cathay Grand Theatre and Chongqing Museum of Fine Arts are used as cases to study the architectural design in practice.In summary, it is pointed out that the ultimate goal of architechtural design starting from urban is to realize efficient integaration of urban and buildings. Architechtural design starting from urban is to put forward a new requirement for architechtural design from the angle of urban compostition and is also a new adaptable designing type, Studing architechtural design in urban is to look for the reasonable patterns and strategies of new architechtural design. In the condition of more and more rapid and new urban development, and as various factors influencing urban development, architectural design starting from urban is a better method to focus on resolving, overall coordinate, initiatively direct, and passively adapt urban sustainable developments. Except follow above designing patterns, strategies, and principals, architectural design starting from urban still needs to take account of the conditions of our country, and deploit local features accoding to the characteristics of buildings and the developing status of urban. As consequenses, urban construction can adapt the economical and social development of urban China.
