Visual Identity Design Case Studies

Visual Identity System is one of the three elements of the Corporate Identity System (CIS), and it is a systematic project for corporate information dissemination that conveys information by visual transmission. As part of the CIS, Visual Identity Design in our country is still at the exploring and forming stage compared with Europe, America, Japan and South Korea etc. Based on this we still need large amount ofⅥcreative practices and fundamental research. It will have a promising prospect that is more diversified, sound and individualized.This article is focused on the application theory research of theⅥdevelopment process, and case study is an effective method used throughout this process, regarding three topics that are're-designing','focusing'and'directing'designing, and'organizing'and'expanding'designing developed by the author from designing practices. In the case studies, analyzing the problems, developing and making the inductions has been used as a major method. However, the analyzing process and method are specialized for each different case study. In all, throughout the studies, the author wants to follow the same process of background analyzing– problem solving– reflection and summary. For designing practice, the process is demonstrated as:ⅥDesigning background–Ⅵcase study analysis–Ⅵcreative activity (idea– creativity– proposal)–Ⅵdesigning solution.Regarding sifting the case studies, some typical and diversified cases have been chosen especially those that can illustrate the process from different viewpoints. Some contemporary designing cases have also been included and combined with some projects designed by the author herself, in order to delicate to the research projects that will integrate the practical needs of different corporations. Meanwhile, the theories will be enriched and developed in designing practices.
