Nowadays, with more and more vehicles consuming increasing amount of gas, and more and more pollution from vehicles jeopardizing environment, people begun to realize the electric vehicle is a key point to balance the environment and vehicle. The EV have become the focus being researched and paid great attention to by the whole society.This paper is an important part of electric bus project, focusing on the research of EV driving system based on CAN Bus.This paper has firstly present the structure of EV driving system based on CAN Bus through analyzing the requirement of the EV, which is viewed as a single module connected to the main network in EV. In this structure, the driving system communicated with other modules through the CAN bus, which is called as node. The node consists of two parts: detecting node and controlling node. The EV driving system realized the feedback control and electric braking etc by the two nodes.Secondly, the design of the CAN bus hardware circuit for the driving system was present. To realize the proper communication among all nodes, the higher level protocol of the CAN bus is given. The different data style,the different priority,data's meaning and the executed function were defined in that protocol. By analyzing, the protocol could meet the real-time requirements of the system. Which make the CAN bus's application to the EV possible.Again, the monitor nodes in driving system are researched deeply in this paper; the wheel speed node,the accelerating node and the current and voltage node are designed and the design of controlling program is present.Finally, the method of the driving control was given. Under the given data about EV, the electric vehicle's work was simulated by ADVISOR when the automobile speed and the traffic were different. We can see that the system can make the electric vehicle work properly.The electric vehicle is in the initial stage in our country, even more about the application to the electric vehicle; this paper makes the application to the EV researched, and simulates the work of the fuzzy-based electric control system, and makes the active attempt for CAN bus applied to the EV.
