Carrier plane is one of the most important equipment for the modern navy. It has so much difference with aircraft which lands on the land, especially in the dynamic problem of landing on the aircraft carrier. During the landing process, arrest force and extra load caused by boat's movement will influence the performance of carrier plane. How to calculate these loads and work out arrest method is very important for designing and using carrier plane.General method for calculating arrest force and landing gear loads is setting up simplified model, and then solving differential equation. So each load of landing gear with simplified math model is fixed in this paper. Followed, the dynamic equation of arrest force and improves the way of calculating arrest force's range are given out.The dynamic problem of carrier plane gets much better way for solving with improvement of multibody system dynamics and digital virtual technique. Based on the software ADAMS,virtual model of plane and arresting gear are built. At last landing gear load and arrest force which influenced by many factors are discussed.The landing of carrier plane needs high precision with high velocity. Through study of the problem by differential equation and digital simulation, it shows that movement of aircraft carrier inflicts much extra load on landing gear; arrest force is more sensitive to landing velocity than landing weight.
