Carrier-based aircraft is the most important combat effectiveness of modern navy, which isdifferent from land-based aircraft with harsh use environment. Whether landing safely and recoveredsuccessfully are the most critical problems during service. The complex maritime weather, atmospheric turbulence and air wake, carrier random movement and the landing area with limitedlength and width make the approach and landing process of carrier-based aircraft much more difficult.According to the dynamic problems related to the landing process, a mathematic model ofcarrier-based aircraft landing is established for aircraft with telescopic landing gears considering thesix-degree-of-freedom aircraft body, flexible landing gear strut and the carrier movement. Based onthe model above, the effect of subsidence velocity, attitude of aircraft, carrier movement on thelanding gear impact and aircraft’s dynamic response is discussed with the certain carrier movementmodel. The conclusions show: the impact load is linked directly to the combination velocity betweentire and the deck; while touchdown prior to main gear, the impact load highly increases. The engineering formula of ground effect is given. The random free-air turbulence and randomship-wake disturbance are obtained from white noise by filtering. At the same time, the periodicship-motion-induced turbulence and steady ship-wake disturbance are numerically simulated. Theinfluence factors of bolting performance and landing gear load are analyzed. The results show: therolling and yawing movement of carrier mainly cause the lateral landing error and affect the lateralbolting trajectory; the stronger the air wake is, the more intense the aircraft rolling and side windingmovement are; by the ground effect, the landing impact decreases and touchdown lags; the taxidistance is increased.A method of obtaining the asymmetric arresting gear force using the centering arresting force isprovided. The arresting performance under different off-center ratios, initial yaw angles and slippingspeeds are illustrated. The effect of carrier movement and ground effect on the aircraft’s attituderesponse are studied. The conclusions show: off-center leads the largest difference of tension betweenleft and right cable; the lateral landing error is corrected with varying extents during arresting.
