Recent advances in aircraft technology are placing, such as aerodynamics layout and control technology, offering the capability to expand flight envelope to the high-angle-of-attack regime. Several conventional criteria that requires LOES transfer function representations of the full-order dynamics, such as CAP, frequency-domain Neal-Smith, etc, seem to be particularly problematic at the high angles of attack where nonlinear aerodynamics often predominate. Thus we need to new flying qualities suit to evaluate handling qualities at the high angles. At another hand, Super agility plays an important pole in the air combat, which is a combination of maneuverability and flying quality. All of these should be considered in the control system design, combining with control power and robustness. This paper introduces a new handling quality criterion, time-domain Neal-Smith. With optimization response of pitch angle and pilot compensation, time-domain Neal-Smith criteria are plotted.Secondly, this paper highlights some of longitudinal agility criteria form simulation, and distinguish agiler structure from another. Aircraft agility is a highly complex problem involving aerodynamics, propulsion, structures and controls, yet this chooses point of the CG, inertia of pitch axis and controls to discuss.Furthermore, combining handling quality and agility with control power and robustness, the tradeoff control law design method is outlined.According to the research, the tradeoff control law design method has confirmed the range of the control law. This method is most practically valued in control system design.
