Distribution network is an important component in power system which directly connects power system and transmission system to the users. With the growing demand need of the power energy, the power supplying quality of distribution system are of main significance to the users. And the most of power cut is caused by distribution network unscheduled interruption. State Grid Corporation of China proposes to strengthen the distribution system, which is one of the two themes during the period of "11th Five-Year Plan".Distribution network topology is so complicated, and the network structure flexible, because the switch is on or off so frequently. As the basis of distribution network analysis, a good network topology algorithm is the most importance.This thesis makes a systematic research and analysis about distribution automation topology algorithm. In order to speed up network modeling, overall network was divided into five layers with different date structures on the basis of distribution network characteristics, so that the space for the date was saved. And the object-oriented technology was used in the network modeling. Both static global topology and dynamic local topology are used to reduce searching range and speed up network modeling. On this basis, fault location, isolation and restoration and network restructure are investigated, and Visual C++ is used to develop the software of topology drawing. Distribution network topology algorithm is proved to be practicable, real-time, exact and swift.
