With the rapid development of national electrified railways, the Box Section Post (BSP, also known as switch station) has been widely used. However, how to achieve electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for all in-box devices in a complexed electromagnetic environment has become one of the most important issues. This paper starts from analyzing the mechanisms for introducing interference sources into section posts, in terms of interference sources, matching, and sensitive equipments, analyzing and studying the reason for the interference of the in-box sensitive equipments. From the analysis, the author further discusses various EMC methods in the aspects of grounding, shielding, filtering, isolation, etc and proposes a set of EMC solutions for BSP. The solutions are proved to be feasible and fully functional by theoretical analysis and experimental verification. The paper uses the BSP which has already been applied to Zheng-Xu Electrified Railway as an example, verifying the proposed EMC solutions. The result is very promising and meets the requirement of the national standards. Finally, the paper summarizes the current status of the development of BSP for national electrified railways and proposes a number of ideas followed by a prospect on future research directions. The author first applied BSP in the reconstruction of Zheng-Xu Electrified Railway and participated in the complete design of BSP. This paper is a summarization of the research achievements and the essence of intelligence.
