With an outstanding performance and wide range of applications, the helicopter is increasinglybeing applied within the field of civil aviation. However, helicopter often needs to be modified tomeet the complex operational task requirements. Taking flight performance and safety of helicopterinto consideration, the modification must be in conformity with the requirements of the relevant civilaviation regulations, followed by submitting the civil aviation administration airworthiness approval,and completion of the relevant airworthiness compliance verification. It is also to be ensured that themodification will not affect the helicopter flight performance and flight safety, so as to obtain thecorresponding Modification Design Approvals. Since the quality and reliability of the airborneequipment is closely related to the environment, they determine the intrinsic characteristics ofairborne equipment, and environmental testing is not only the way to find and evaluate theenvironmental capacity of airborne equipment, but also to verify the helicopter modification design ofairworthiness compliance method.This article is in view of the above requirements, starting from the helicopter importantmodification design airworthiness approval requirements, followed by an in-depth study ofairworthiness regulations and compliance verification method, combined with environmental testingunder various types of environmental conditions and the next step is the measurement ofelectromagnetic compatibility and temperature test of the modification design using theenvironmental testing method. The next task is to complete helicopter modification designairworthiness compliance with environmental test applications which mainly includes the followingcontents:1. From the perspective of helicopter airworthiness management, research helicopterimportant modification design airworthiness approval process;2. Through the analysis ofelectromagnetic interference sources and electromagnetic compatibility theory foundation, anelectromagnetic compatibility prediction model is set up, and tested through the electromagneticcompatibility measurement methods;3. Various environmental factors on the airborne equipment areanalysed and then we reserach on the failure mechanism of the temperature stress and temperature testmethod;4. After the research of helicopter modification design airworthiness approval tasks, a giventype of helicopter modification design airworthiness compliance verification is carried out.
