Research Of Failure Test For Electric Connector

With the rapid development of railway vehicle, the PC net is used on board more and more popular, especially in the CRH and subway. The number of electric line and connector is getting large and large. On the one hand, it makes the vehicle control and communication more convenient, largely raises the performance of railway vehicle. But on the other hand, it does bring in some troubles. The reliability of railway vehicle largely depends on its electric reliability. And the reliability of electric connector is an important aspect of its electric reliability. Thus, testing the reliability of electric connector and examining where the failure point is vital. The failure type of electric connector is variable, such as out-break, short circuit, instant out-break, and wrong connecting and insulation inadequacy. This paper introduces the overall design on the electric connector testing system. It includes out-break, instant out-break, wrong connecting and the PC program that designed to corporate with the testing system. The testing system components and the detailed design of key parts are also included. This thesis also explains the design of instant out-break testing module, the vibration module, the self-check module and the wrong-connect checking module. Designing the program of MCU and PC related is also included. The designed circuits and programs both MCU and PC are all imitated in the proteus imitating software. Meanwhile, the actual circuits were also welded to test whether this method was feasible. Through the imitation and experiment, we know this testing system is feasible.The PC program is compiled by Visual C++ 6.0. To make the surface of this program more pretty and like the actual operation platform, this program imported some of the LabView virtual buttons and meters, such as the handle, knob, meter and so on. Adding the operation for Access database, this program is able to store the testing results and review the history data. This program and the testing system could work together to show the testing result real time. There are two ways to show testing result: direct graph way and numerical way. There's no need to operate the testing system when this program working with the testing system. The all work could be done through the PC program.The testing system contains two types of MCU. One is testing mcu which can write down, show and transmit the data when cooperating with basal circuits. The other is parameter mcu, whose main task is to provide the basal circuit with the parameters needed when cooperating with other basal circuits. This one is the premise of the testing system. The method of testing the time of electric connector instant out-break is to calculate the number of pulse. The out-break time is so short, just about several microseconds, that capturing the out-break time task should be undertaken by the basal circuit. And then the mcu will complete the other work. As for the situation that the out-break time is not long enough; the basal circuit will clear the data automatically.
