The wind and wave of the sea are so violent that when the ship-based helicopter is moored on the deck of the ship, the helicopter is being in complicated environment. How to keep the force of riggings reasonable is a key problem. In this paper, the research is carried out on the analysis of mooring loads and optimization design of the ship-based helicopter, so as to meet the demands of actual project.Firstly, by analyzing several methods of mooring for the ship-based helicopter, we get the expressions of the mooring loads in the case of the biggest rocking angle of the ship and every method of the mooring. secondly, considering the special style and characteristic of mooring method of ship-based helicopter, the model involving helicopter, riggings and moorages are built up and the analysis of the helicopter is made by the combination of FEA(Finite Element Analysis) and optimal theory, we get the biggest mooring loads of every mooring method. And the structure of the mooring bed is proposed, then, the structure strength analysis is made. Thirdly, the ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL) and the optimization function of ANSYS are used to optimize the mooring bed of the ship-based helicopter. The optimal model and constraints are also presented, and we get the best blue print of the mooring bed in the ship for every mooring method. Last, Software system is developed successfully, using VC++, ANSYS and so on. The functions of the software include the analysis of mooring loads and optimization of the mooring bed distribution, which supplies the effective method to the mooring of ship-based helicopter.
