Study For The Control Of Construction Of Soft Soil Ground Treated With Surcharge Preloading And Plastic Drainage Plate In Freeway

The paper is on the backgroud of the soft soil ground that treated with surcharge preloading and plastic drainage plate in HeBei bayshore freeway, the observation programme of the field test for soft soil ground was designed. During a year the interstitial hydraulic pressure and the deformation of soft soil ground under road bank were observated.The way to control the deformation and consolidation of soft soil ground under road bank were discussed according to large amounts of in-situ observation datum.The deformation behaviour of soft soil ground was analysed.The stability control methods that St~δh method, inflection piont method, the deformation-acceleration method and the settlement-acceleration method were discussed.These methods were validated by the in-situ data of the project. Several familiar curves which can prognosticate the settlement of the soft soil ground were analysed. The calculation method of corresponding parameter were given, and the method was validated by the in-situ data of the project.The effect of surcharge preloading reduce post-construction settlement was analysed in theory.The design method of surcharge preloading was given. Practical way of the determination of pre-compression period was discussed and some examples were given.
