Approaches To Urban Design Control In Coastal Tidal Estuarine Areas

Recently,upsurge of land exploit and reuse in tidal estuaries are becoming a pet topic ,which call the calm thinking of design much better than before. At the same time, the leading action of urban planning hasn't made a demanding effect. It needs the help of other relative studies. So it is worthy to discuss a more effective way for urban design control. The purpose of this research is to provide Urban Design Methods for tidal estuaries and to discuss more effective way for urban design control. Using Design-Based Research for Downstream River Hai Tidal Locks, water sensitive urban design concept is brought out so that the tidewater and rainwater are became the two design keys. Our study focuses on the port reuse, compared with the usual method of urban design, this study makes the process of design as research, evaluates different prototypes to develop the urban design and uses the guidelines to express the result.The conclusions are drawn as follows: (1).In the tidal estuaries, urban design considering with civil engineering helps to meet the security and landscape requirements. It makes the built environment following the design concept faithfully while joins the work of next phase easily. (2). Research by design as can easily deal with the concrete problems and can deepen the design project to improve the scientific of design method. (3). As a depth strategy-urban design study, urban design guidelines can be the base of effective control of the urban design which helps to promote the cooperation of different professionals and leaves room for further detail design.
