Nowadays with the requirement of the domestic corporations on the commonality of machining the pockets in the sleeve and back-angled shifterstops of synchronization regulator of automobile, the paper studied the process technology of cycloid rotational indexing, based on thoroughly understanding the principle of this technology.Firstly, for the pockets in the sleeve, this paper analyzed the conventional form of axis-section contour, put forwards the universal form, optimized the cycloid parameters and calculated the locus of the cutter location. For back-angled shifterstops, the paper analyzed their distribution rule, found the relation between the tooth-space number of back-angled shifterstops and tooth-span number of cycloid, and optimized the cycloid parameters. For both, sample process proved the universality of the machining technology.With the process characters of this technology, this paper concluded the main factors influenced the process precision such as the error of the tool, the assembly accuracy of the principal axis and the chucking appliance, the error of the screw transmission, at the same time attested the commonality of the processing. On the processing precision this paper put forwards relative measures such as the feeding method of the axes, replaced the relative coordinates by the absolute coordinates when machining the pockets, and reduced the effect of the transmission error; about the centering manner of the chuck, this paper suggested the measure of changing the cylinder contact to cone contact, which improves the assembly precision of the principal axis and chucking appliance.After analyzing the operation process of the machine and according the design principles of human-machine, this paper optimized the structure of control system, developed a friendly graphics user interface (GUI) comprising the functions of adding, deletion, program editing, the information storage of the tool presetting, error compensating and the other functions, which made the machine characterize in easy operation and high reliability.Based on the study of this paper the technology of cycloid rotational indexing and the commonality can be extended greatly.
