With Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometers widely used in a number of subject areas, an increasing number of equipment manufacturers and users give a full range of close attention, whose practical application value mainly reflects in the experimental data and the results of it. Since the unified and common data format standards for analytical instruments of our country has not yet been established and other countries'standards failed to adopt equivalently, the research for data format standards of analytical instruments in China's industry is a top priority. Once the format standard is formed, the data from different types of analytical instruments or different manufacturers can be processed unitedly, to achieve cross-version, cross-platform, and support data sharing, which lay the foundation for the research and development of universal data-processing software system of analytical instruments, the promotion of analytical instruments industrial upgrading, and the realization of the strategic restructuring for resources conservation and comprehensive utilization. Therefore, the design and realization of a high universality, scalability and can be widely accepted data format of the analytical instruments have a very important practical significance.In this paper, the advanced foreign standards related to data formats of analytical instruments (including the IUPAC / JCAMP-DX, SPC and AnDI / AIA, etc.) is introduced. Focused on GAML, SpectroML and AnIML standards based on XML, a analysis markup language-AnalyticalML based on XML is put forward. Combined with the basic structure and principles of Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometer, the standard is put into the practical application of Beijing KeChuangHaiGuang Instrument Co., Ltd. and Beijing LuJie Instrument Co., Ltd. This paper includes three parts:1. Data format standards for analytical instruments such as GAML, SpectroML and AnIML presented and published by standard-setting bodies and enterprises are introduced, whose problems are also pointed out. The overall demand for data formats of scientific analytical instruments is clear, which lay the foundation for the data format standard. Based on drawing the design concepts and technology of foreign advanced standards, to adopt part of foreign advanced standards equivalently, combined with the characteristics of XML technology, a XML-based analysis markup language–AnalyticalML is put forward, to achieve the data format standard for analytical instruments designed in this paper. The design principle includes a better versatility and scalability, to meet the requests of technical standards for XML, to comply with relevant international and national standards, and to meet the needs of equipment manufacturers and users. The design of AnalyticalML Schema is achieved, which is used to describe the structure of AnalyticalML information. 2. Do a detailed study on the basic principle and composition of Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometers, combined with the characteristics of their own, and do the research on the relevant data content, the metadata and the storage location. In accordance with the definition of AnalyticalML Schema, the corresponding experimental information is stored in the instrument information, sample information, methods information and measurement information. The data format standard AnalyticalML-AFS of Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometers is given, to some extent, the rationality and feasibility of data format standard AnalyticalML for Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometers is proved, which plays an exemplary role in the popularization and application of other categories analytical instruments.3. With a combination of hydride generation-Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometer HG-AFS in Beijing KeChuangHaiGuang Instrument Co. Ltd., the data format conversion software application-ADTransform is designed and implemented, which is divided into three parts: the human-computer interaction module, the data extraction module and the data conversion module, by the use of Jigloo, JDBC and JAXB plug-in technology, realizing the graphics user interface, the data extraction and data analysis of Access database, as well as data binding of XML and Java class. ADTransform, the software application, converts the original Access database data format of Beijing KeChuang HaiGuang Instrument Co. Ltd. into AnalyticalML-AFS. And the experimental results of the tests and part of the test data are given. In addition, the test results and the data on the application of AnalyticalML-AFS in Beijing KeChuangHaiGuang and Beijing LuJie Instrument Co. Ltd. are also given in this paper, to some extent, which prove the rationality, feasibility and general applicability of AnalyticalML at the same time.Deficiencies and subsequent work:1. The general applicability of AnalyticalML has yet to be proved.2. The universal of ADTransform, data format conversion software, needs to be further extended.3. The standardization system of atomic fluorescence spectrometer needs to be established and improved.
