Wind Energy has been considered to be one of the most important kinds of clean energy for the human in the further, which would never be exhausted. Accompanied by the development and popularization of wind power generation, more and more wind turbines are being put into use all over the world. MW Grade wind turbine has been main current among all the types of wind turbines. The environments of wind turbines in work are usually very bad, situation of loads working on wind turbines is complicated, blade, tower and main transmission chain are key components of wind turbine, and the study of the vibration characteristics of them is very important in the design of wind turbine, which can help design those key components more reasonably and improve the stability of wind turbine.This paper studies on the vibration characteristics of MW grade wind turbine, and chose a type of 1MW wind turbine to study. As key components of wind turbine, blade, tower and the main transmission chain are the key points to study in this paper. First, establish three-dimensional model of blade, tower, and main transmission chain separately by drawing tool SolidWorks, then make modal analysis on these three-dimensional models with ANSYS according to finite element method to calculate modes of vibration and vibration frequencies at different steps of blade, tower, and transmission chain. Then calculate accurate frequencies of those components by a kind of wind turbine design software Bladed, and validated the accuracy of vibration frequencies of the first and second step gotten from modal analysis with ANSYS by comparing them with the Bladed results.The comparison shows that the errors between them are allowed. It makes out that we can grasp the basic vibration characteristics of wind turbine by the method of making modal analysis of key components of wind turbine according to finite element theory, which can supply the theoretical basis to design of wind turbine.
