As the main support equipment of wind generating set, the tower joins the generatorand the ground and provides altitude for the impeller. Therefore, the tower design isparticularly important, and the mechanical properties research will provide a reference basisfor the optimization design of high-power wind power tower. This paper take a cone wind power tower in wind farm of Inner Mongolia as theresearch object, and take acceleration test to wind turbines in two working conditions ofnormal operation and halt condition, data acquisition adopted random sampling, getacceleration response and natural frequency from time domain and spectrum analysis. Basedon this, build tower model using finite element analysis software ANSYS, and then domodal analysis, static analysis and buckling analysis to the tower. Finally, based on modedecomposition method theory, put forward the wind tower system’s vibration modedecomposition, and get the displacement components of each order mode at any moment inthree different seismic wave function.Research shows that: the finite element simulation results is close to the tested results, results shows that tower can avoid resonance effectively. The tested first order frequency is0.5Hz, first order damping ratio is1.82%. Static analysis and buckling analysis shouldconsider the influence of extreme wind speed mainly, the strength, stiffness and stability inextreme wind speed condition meet the requirements. In the seismic load, the first mode intower’s displacement in any time accounted for65%~90%, the component of each ordermodes decrease according to1/10and changed with the change of earthquake acceleration. The measured results and calculative results provide a basis for further studying ofstructure dynamic response of wind tower. In addition, the modal parameter data havecertain reference value for wind tower design and structural vibration control.
