Loss of excitation failure is a serious generator failure,which will have a serious impact to the generator and system safety.The research of excitation fault characteristics and protection will be necessary and has a great significance.In this thesis,theoretical analysis method combined with numerical simulation calculation is used.Firstly,based on generator principle and loss of excitation theory of generator,synchronous generator operation behaviour after excitation fault is analyzed,and the defects of the existing protection principles are identified,with providing the anti-maloperation measures.Secondly,point out that the loss of excitation generator is feasible to maintain a short period asynchronous operation,if we can educate power immediately.After excluding loss of field failure,it can smoothly resynchronize.Finally,the impact of the switch operation of connecting transformer in large-scale power plant to the security and stability of the system are summarized.
