With the scale of power system developing,the power system operators' personnel skills and accident-treatment capacity is more and more attention.Now the power systems automation is improving,using traditional simulation methods to train staff,has become ineffective.Therefore,we put a higher demand on the substation training simulation system(STSS).As one of the core module,to improve the protection simulation methods is the most important aspects.This paper set up the protection model components of STSS;By analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of existing protection simulation methods,this paper states the adaptive method based on half-logic and semi-value and the universal simulation model;Further more,as a supplement to the above methods,a simple and practical way of relay simulation,called Case Relay Simulator,is designed.Through a real project example—GUANGMING substation and the analysis of main transformer backup protection type,this method's accuracy and efficiency is proved.
