The power transformer is an important component of the power system equipment. In the operation of any transformer fault may have caused huge economic losses and even bring about casualties.Therefore,the transformer equipment monitoring and fault diagnosis of the problems for the growing number of concerns,the process of looking for the cause of the malfunction include condition monitoring,fault analysis and the reasons for deterioration trend projections,for the fault diagnosis,early maintenance,protective remedies measures is crucial.In this paper,on the basis of studying the Chinese and foreign scholars who have give the transformer fault diagnosis technology and the principle.View of the current transformer fault diagnosis existing methods in a number of deficiencies,Constructing the transformer model of diagnostic fault apply in FAT with help of the data of actual transformer fault during several years and applying in transformer fault diagnostic expert system.Using of cluster analysis,fault tree,and data mining theory and technology,transformer fault system is established.Improve grey theory is applied to transformer characteristic gas forecast.Eventually,data mining technology with traditional expert systems knowledge into power transformer insulation fault prediction work can be broadly applied to a power transformer fault diagnosis.
