Research and application of electronically controlled cylinder lubricator in order to improve the traditional mechanical lubricator, will reduce the consumption of cylinder oil without by the sacrifice of cylinder wear, so as to obtain the better economical efficiency. Especially in the situation of energy shortage, its economic and social benefits are considerable. The environmental problems arouses more and more international widespread concern, research and development on the electronically controlled cylinder lubricator will be conducive to the environmental protection and the international convention fulfillment. Obviously, research and development on the electronically controlled cylinder lubricator can achieve good results at energy-saving and emission-reduction.The research of this paper is a part of Wuhan University of Technology electronically controlled lubricator research and development project. First of all, the paper introduces the electronically controlled lubricator test bench and its basic working principle, which at aiming at the design of electronically controlled cylinder lubricator on a 6L60MC low-speed two-stroke diesel engine.As the bench test can't simulate the changing cylinder backpressure boundary condition in the diesel engine working process, the curve of cylinder pressure on oil quill was loaded to the model, and then some important information and data, such as injection characteristics of the cylinder lubricator were obtained by simulated computation. The effect of length of the pipeline on cylinder oil injection performance was also discussed.During the experiment of research and development on electronically controlled cylinder lubricator system, there emerged some problems such as the stepper motor out-of-step, motor rotation blockage or cannot drive the lubricator pump. Therefore to explore the driving torque of the lubricator pump, we designed and implemented the lubricator driving torque experiment. The effects of back-pressure, cylinder oil temperature, lubricating unit number, cycle oil injection quantity and driven speed on driving torque were also discussed, in order to provide reference for the matching of stepper motor and lubricator pump.In brief, this article has done the simulation research and driving torque experimental research, which has provided reference and data support to the research and development of electronically controlled cylinder lubricator. It has some guiding significance to research. But there are still many deficiencies and difficulties need further research and improvement.
