According to Beijing power grid planning and design technical principles,low resistance grounding mode is adopted in the downtown area and parts of economy and technology development districts.Now,most of the related substations have finished the technical retrofit.On the whole,the operation of low resistance grounding system keeps stable,but there occurred some problems.Hence,it is necessary to summarize and analyze all aspects of low resistance grounding system,including its development experience,application,technical principles,and experience and lessons.This paper describes the basic status of low resistance grounding system in Beijing power grid and makes the feasibility study of related technical policies.Moreover,the configuration principles and setting requirements of relay protection is emphatically analyzed.The suggestions for the improvement and optimization are proposed to increase the operation reliability of low resistance grounding system.
