In recent years, with the development of economic, people pay more attention to the energy and environmental issues which is getting more acute by the rapid development of automobile industry. The developed countries began to study new energy vehicles, including electrical vehicle which is one of the solution to resolve the emergence of energy and environmental problems.With the improved quality of life, the population has also stepped up the pace of development, the residential area construction is up to decentralization. The large concentration of community residents has brought a new traffic problem. In this paper, a model about the operation of the electrical mini-bus in residential area has been researched to solve these two problems above.Firstly, feasibility of electrical mini-bus popularization has been analyzed and demonstrated from both of technical and economical efficiency which include fuel and life-cycle cost. The demand of mini-bus has been predicted with the model of neural network and been solved by matlab based on the data from Wuhan electrical vehicle operation company. Character of resident trip of Changqing Garden community in Wuhan has been studied The model which can solve the dispatch and the quantity of the mini-bus has been build and solved with lingo. Finally, the costs and profits of operations on mini-bus has been analyzed and compared with the practical result in Changqing garden.The conclusion of the study of operation on mini-bus in residential area can be the reference of other community which is going to build the traffic system of mini-bus.
