With the exploitation of offshore petroleum resources increasing, the market demand of semi-submersible vessel has a further development. Because the ship is particular in sailing and operating, it adopts marine electrical propulsion. Owe to its superiority, marine electrical propulsion has been becoming an important direction of ships propulsion development, and the research about marine electrical propulsion has developed with a certain degree. There are some problems in practical application, therefore, modeling and simulating for marine electrical propulsion system and semi-submersible vessel is of great importance.The thesis has modeled and simulated the electric system of marine electrical propulsion, which is based on concluding the mathematical model and analyzing the basic principles of marine electrical propulsion.This thesis includes the following parts:1. Summarized the mathematical model of synchronous generator and its excitation system; analyzed the basic composition of the distribution system; analyzed the basic function of power management system.2. Modeled synchronous generator and its excitation system,distribution system,power management system.3. Debugged the program of model of electric system on the simulation platform; verified the validity of each of model of electric system; simulated and analyzing the whole electric system.Some of the power system simulation models of the mother ship electric system deal with a certain degree of simplification for the sake of modeling and programming. The simulation results show that the whole electric system of marine electrical propulsion simulated the practical system working conduction well in a certain extent.
