Taking a typical course controller of ocean-going ship as a pant,a new generation of steering simulator is built.The core controller of the simulator is a S7-200 PCL made by Siemens Company.In addition,a PC based software controller is implemented.The software can not only control the ship mode but also monitor and record operations of operator.The simulator satisfies the requirement of IMO and China Maritime Safety Administration.Moreover,it can be used to culture seafarers.After introduction of ship course controller and steering system,the dynamic characteristic of ship motion and steering gear is analyzed.Based on their characteristic and operation requirement,a ship motion model and steering gear system model are established.The ship model can modify its parameters in response to operation of trainees.Therefore,it can simulate various steering performance with various ship type and sailing condition.In order to verify the correctness,the whole simulating model is established by jointing sub-models using Matlab/Simulink,and calculation is conducted.The simulating results prove the correctness of the model.Based on simulating results, design idea and method are put forward.After system structure and function are determined,a hybrid ship course controller real-time simulating system is designed.The system includes real object,hardware simulator and software simulator.PLC controller is programmed in STEP 7 Micro/WIN V4.0.Software simulator is programmed in C#.NET 2003.SQL SERVER2000 database management system is used to record operations and course curve.Data transfer between PC and PLC is achieved by S7-200 PC Access through interface cable.The simulator is easily to use because it can provide multi training mode.PC based software simulator can be used separately,training operators by human-machine interface.At the same time,it can be used as trainer's panel,which can remote monitor operations and modify parameters of the simulator.If it's necessary PLC based simulator can run independent from the PC based simulator.
