Perception Of Materials--the Research Of Material Experiencing In Building Space

Up to now,modern architectures have developed into a quite mature stage with the technique of shaping space through physical design;the multiple composition epoch concerning with building's subject experience and starting from the subject's experience has come.On the other hand, as an important concerned factor in construction design,building material has been paid increasing attention for its demonstrative feature and it shows sufficient meaning in the experience phrase.In this way,to get new awareness and make new explanation of materials is no doubt an important idea for exploring "spatial experience" study.Through concerns for experiencing subjects and the subjects' experiences,the thesis,with perceptible characteristics and men's perception of materials as its research objects,makes reserch on how to make better use of materials to get a space with properties and how to satisfy the growing life needs and emotion needs;starting from the phenomenology of perception,it analyzes and discusses how to use the perceptible characteristics of materials to shape the place identification of spaces from both the physical and psychological perceptions.Reserach of the basic perceptible characteristics of materials is chiefly on the research of perception to materials through the five senses of sight,touch,hearing,taste and smell;the elementary form of these perceptions can create the perceptible space from physical feelings.Through the research of main perceptible characteristics of common materials,the thesis explored combination characters and the rich expressive force of these materials;it makes studies with examples on how architects detect the perceptible characters of materials with techniques such as modern technologies;and it then constructs a "place" with humanity by means of the cultural, historical,regional and symbolic aspects of materials through the plane of the advanced form of perception——psychological perception.
