In recent years,as more and more bridges have been built in our country ,the question of how to guarantee the security and the durability of bridges under their operation has become a most people attention to.To replace of traditional regular or irregular bridge health testing,the safety monitoring system was built for bridges especially for long-span bridges,which is significant to monitoring and evaluation, confirmation of designs,research and development of bridges.The safety monitoring technology of long-span bridges has more and more becomes a popular topic among bridge's circle and academic circle.in this article, some elaboration and analysis of the following content will be carried out.1.The review of current reseach and the development history about bridge monitoring technology are made. And the importance of health monitoring is proposed.2. Comparing with the traditional health monitoring, the concept and significance of long-span cable-stayed bridge monitoring system is expounded. Also its content and function is introduced.3. Because different structures of bridges owns different characteristics,some criterions and laws of designs for the safety monitoring system for bridges are given baseing on those health monitoring systems,which have been applied to many long-span bridges built in recently.4. The finite model of cable-stayed bridge is set up, the girder of flexibility matrix of cable-stayed bridge using redundant constraint points is solved by MTALAB.Comparing with the result of the finite model ,the cable force is evaluated.5. Take a cable-stayed bridge as an example, through the comparison of the data using redundant constraint points with the data using the analysis of the finite model, a conclusion is draw.It proved the feasibility of redundant constraint points in engineering.In this article,the author tries to make a comprehensive summary of current health monitoring technology for bridges,so the finite model is bulit to come true the theory.The feasibility basing on redundant constraint points is expounded.Some basical laws of safety monitoring technology for bridges are being exprolated.At the same time some valuable suggestion about safety monitoring technology for long-span bridges is given .It is suitable to apply these conclusions drown in enginerring ,which is the complement of safety monitoring for long-span bridges.
