The main-line highway is an important component of the highway network. It plays a vital role in the national transpotation economic. However, the security situation of main-line highway has been very bad. The safety of main-line highway is of great significance for research. The influencing factors of road traffic accident are complex, what are composed by the people, vehicles, roads and other components of a complete chain of accident factors. Any accident is not a result of a single factor. However, operation speed is a multi-disciplinary approach in the final outcome of motor vehicle, which include driver behavior, road alignment and road geometry and environment.Studying it can effectively evaluate the road safety situationThis dissertation is supported by science and technology project of Gansu province"traffic evaluation research on main-line highway of Gansu province."Firstly, the operating characteristic of vehicle on main-line highway analyzed. From a qualitative point of view of highway speed, the author the factors of opration speed is analysised, especially the impact of linear elements.According to theoretical regression analysis and some real opration speed, this dissertation established the prediction model of bus and car on the main-line highway , define the concept"speed difference of adjacent sections"and"speed reduction coefficient"as the index of road safety level. Finally, according to test freeway and the combination of accident information, the research is modified and tested. The value of operation speed on freeway is finished, and it is evaluated to alignment of the freeway safety. Furthermore, estimation is processed to make sure the model feasibility.
