Cold disaster like the fracture on the lining surface, watering and freezing of the road surface in tunnels have been greatly weakening the service capacity and producing heavy burden on the maintenance of many tunnels built in cold areas in our country. Especially, under the four thousand billion investment stimulating, and coming of the top basic facilities construction,a great many tunnels will be built in elevations areas or circumpolar areas in the Big West. Compared with traditional tunnel in the cold area, these tunnels will take large size and require higher technology. Moreover the extreme climatic conditions are very unfavorable for these tunnels. Therefore, problems of how to take effective measures to prevent cold damage form happening during construction have constantly coming into our and still remain to be solved. In order to these, this paper take Galongla Tunnel as an example and study the problems of the tunnel anti-freezing. The main contents of the study includes:(1)On the basis of the analysis of literature data at home and abroad and investigating a great many representative tunnels, summarize the characteristic and engineering particularity of highway tunnel, analyze the reason of freezing damage.(2)On the basis of investigation and analyzed the Frost Resistance and anti-freezing measures in the world, aiming at the Galongla Tunnel characteristic, put forward Frost Resistance and anti-freezing comprehensive measures which adapt to Galongla Tunnel. Through the method of equivalent thickness conversion and finite element numerical analysis obtained the key design parameter--the thickness of heat preservation and heat-insulation layer.(3)In order to verification the applicability of heat insulation material and the security of the thickness of the heat preservation material, design a filed test scheme for test the tunnel surroundings temperature. Choose two different materials for testing at the Galongla Tunnel's import and export segment. Then we analyze the filed testing data and estimate the various material's heat preservation capability and filed practicality. Use the data to verification the numerical simulation result of the tunnel's heat preservation and heat insulation material. At last these data can provide some conclusion which have reference value for implementation scheme of the tunnel's heat preservation and heat insulation layer in cold area in the future.(4)Comparing the highway tunnel's waterproof and drainage system, bring forward a waterproof and drainage system design principle which adapt to the highway tunnel in the cold area and elaborate on it. Based on the design plan, take two waterproof and drainage system design schemes for Galongla Tunnel.
