The detected data of traffic flow characteristic parameters of is the most scientific and objective basis for traffic management departments to develop policies, adopt measures, plan and design transport facilities. This makes detection of traffic flow characteristic parameters to be the key technology of highway intelligent transportation systems. Both home and abroad are dedicating to study traffic flow parameter measurement technology and have proposed a variety of detection techniques.Based on the linear relationship between traffic noise and traffic flow being the basis points, the paper does exploratory test to enhance highway intelligent management. Due to the limitation of actual measurement's factors, cities' trunk lines are selected as data measurement points. In this study, the sound level meter and cross-spectral sound intensity data acquisition system are used to measure urban trunk road traffic noise data sound intensity on the spot and SPSS statistical analysis software is used to analyze and process the data, such as the dual correlation analysis of finite distance, relevant scatter mapping and unitary linear regression analysis. Finally, physical parameters consecutive equivalent sound level Leq which expresses traffic noise, Lae, sound pressure level SPL which expresses physical parameters of cross-spectral sound intensity data acquisition system and linear equations between sound intensity level and SIL traffic flow Q. The main purpose of the paper is to provide a more convenient, fast and economical detection method for the freeway traffic flow detection technology. Traffic flow conditions on highways are conjectured rapidly according to traffic noise detecting parameters detected and the linear regression equation. This provides both theoretical basis and practical basis to improve intelligent management of highways.
