To define the static load due to bulk materials,wall thickness,boundary conditions,imperfection,which effect on the stress behavior of the silos by silo loading,to design large-diameter flat-bottom squat steel silos,they are the principal problem to consider.But the research on the structure is still not complete currently.To probide a design basis for this type silos,the present paper chooses a large-diameter flat-bottom squat steel silos with wall thickness varied as the research object,to have a research on its stress behavior under silo loading.The contents are as follows:1) To introduce three silo loading codes(the Chinese code GB50322-2001,the German code DIN1055,the ISO code ISO11697),and through comparative analysis the loading of alumina,to find their features,and then to find the calculated basis for the bulk materials;2) To authenticate the silos'strength and stability by the methods of code and finite element,to assure two methods' effectiveness and accurateness which can be used to identify the silos' features;3) To analyse the boundary conditions and imperfection whose impact on the structure's critical stress and buckling mode,and the interaction relations between stress and deformation when the silos was borken.And find the best design methods of boundary conditions and limit of imperfection,which can promise the carrying capacity in silo design.
