Based on the fast development of science and technology, the application of computer software is more and more extensive, and so the electrotechnology teaching has been improved. MATLAB, developed by Mathworks Company in 1984, is a high-performance software for science calculation. The software has Matrix as basic program unit, and so it has powerful numerical computation function, pictorial representation function and visible simulation environment. The MATLAB has been introduced into electrotechnology teaching, which not only has resolved the shortcomings of traditional teaching, made up for the lack of experiment materials, improved teaching effect and quality, but also enhanced student's learning interest, broadened their vision and cultivated their innovation capability. The application of MATLAB/Simulink simulation in electrotechnology teaching is mainly studied in this paper. Emphasis is on the design of the graphical user interface (GUI) of MATLAB, and the employment of this function to create the GUI of addition and subtraction of sinusoidal function, RLC series circuit and RLC parallel circuit, and so on. It is very convenient to perform simulation on the electrical circuit in MATLAB by using these interfaces and programs. It mainly consists of the following five parts in this paper. First, The application of the three simulation methods by MATLAB/Simulink (MATLAB programming simulation, Simulink simulation, and Simulink simulation combined with M document programming simulation) in electrotechnology teaching is discussed; Second, based on the design of GUI in MATLAB, the GUI of addition and subtraction of sinusoidal function is created by programming; Third, based on the GUI design platform, the GUIs of RLC series circuit and RLC parallel circuit are developed; Forth, using the compiling function of MATLAB, the created GUI and programs is compiled to executable flies to improve the project flexibility. Finally, in order to use these programs conveniently in teaching, the visual design tool, GUIDE, is employed to design the GUI, which can call the designed programs, Simulink model file and GUI.
