With the socio-economic development, there are now more and more demands for urban transportation.Developing urban rail transit is an effective way to solve this problem. In order to be in line with ever-increasing demands, the passenger transport system with rail transit at its core must put the coordinated interchange between different lines of the rail transit as its priority. In terms of interchange, cross-platform transfer station has a lot of advantages. This form can deal with relatively large passenger flow and benefit stations serving as an integration role for the network. This paper is about the research on passenger evacuation of the cross-platform transfer station. This paper talks about transfer modes of urban rail transit, focusing on the cross-platform transfer. The transfer mode determination rule is set through comparisons between different transfer modes. This paper studies the behaviors and laws of passenger flow within transfer stations, changes of passenger flow during large-scale activities and evacuation of the passenger flow under emergency. The situation of evacuation in transfer stations is summarized in terms of psychology, behavior, recognition, capacity of act and performance.Based on summarization of different forms of cross-platform transfer and characteristics of passenger flow within the station,a micro-simulation model for evacuation of cross-platform is established. With the simulation of two cross-platform transfer stations which are to be finished soon,we can have a direct dynamic view on the process of evacuation and distribution of the people.Transfer efficiency of different conditions can be calculated through changing parameters of the model. In this way, measures and suggestions can be raised to obtain high efficiency and finally provide support for the design and decision-making of facilities in transfer stations and operation management. In the finality, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
