Case Studies On Design For The Renovation Of Urban Parks In Changzhou

With the fast urbanization speeding up the construction of urban parks especially in recent 10 years,newly-built urban-parks keep springing up and old ones also have been gradually renovated.Although great achievements have been made in this field, a quite few problems which need settling,are still available.Based on a close study of the theory on urban parks and their renovation, integrating with the analvses of the current situation and potential tendency in this regard in China,this paper,absorbing successful experience on the regeneration of old urban parks and concept in its design from home and abroad,attempts to find out the way suitable for China's renovation of urban parks.Thanks to her personal working experiences and secret of the renovation design for Changzhou's old parks as well as its cases,the author intends to offer her creative train of thought in her career and relevant cases.Case studies focus on the restructuring of such typical parks as Hongmei Park, Dongpo Park,Jingchuan Park and People Park in the city of Changzhou.To accomplish success in this project,priorities should be given to existing problems in a park under renovation,deciding on an overall thinking in its restructuring and positioning.In addition,importance should be attached to continuing and boosting the culture of the renovated park.Thus we need to tell which should be preserved and which renovated so that riper renovation design will be achieved and improved.This paper mainly discusses the restructuring of years-old urban parks including those after year of 1949 and far bevond as well.
