The simulation system of synchronous generator excitation is one of the most important parts in the power system dynamic simulation laboratory. It simulates the real synchronous generator and excitation system in power system, in order to research the power system big disturbance question and mechanical and electrical transition process. From analyzing the characteristics of excitation system, based on similar theory, Physical model of synchronous generator and its excitation system can be used to simulate the real system. In the past, the control part of excitation system always designed with MCU or PLC, processing power is less than DSP. Studying the all digital control excitation simulation system to enhance the accuracy and the reliability has the important theory and the practical significance.This article unifies the massive literature material, introduced the importance of the simulation system, and the development of excitation system and its simulation, and the aspects which need to improved.The paper analyzes the requirement and the integral parts of simulation system, which included excitation power modules, AVR and negative resistance device. The simulation included semiconductor self-excitation, two excitation and three excitation mode. And introduced the power angle and measurement method, and introduced immune algorithm in which to regulate PID parameters.Based on DSP chip TMS320F2812, designed the circuit of the simulator, and contained the control circuit, the main circuit and the Operation circuit. The excitation winding time constant of model is less than the prototype 's, the excitation winding circuit using negative resistance device to enlarge the excitation current, increasing excitation winding time constant. Analyzing negative resistance device principle and designing the transistor-negative resistance device for the system.The mathematical model of excitation power modules, AVR and negative resistance device was established, and making the excitation SIMULINK model of the system, and doing experiments of static and dynamic stability of the simulation system. The result is good.
