The paper designs and realizes a hierarchical distributed integrated substation automation system combined with the situation of the 110kV substation of ShaoGuan Smelter based on the design principle of"security and stability, easy to access, information integration, intelligence sharing"in the integrated substation automation system. And it can complete the signals centralized monitoring such as the simulation capacity, switching capacity and the pulse signal volume of power plant and so on by using the intelligent hardware platforms and hierarchical structural network communications platforms, and coordinate the functions such as measurement, control, protection and communication and so on, and then complete the energy management of the power plant by using the information sharing and utility software.First of all, it designs a set of hierarchical and distributed substation automation system, and analyses the structure of the entire system from the view of the data acquisition, data processing, data storage, data application and data flow, and develops the object-oriented database, which provides a highly efficient and stable data platform for the system, and then meet the rapidness, reliability, consistency and sharing of the data information processing of the monitoring system.Secondly, it establishes the layered communication system mainly based on the RS-485 bus and industrial Ethernet Network to transmit the information real-time, safely and reliably. The network communication system includes two layers, the process layer network and the substation layer network. The process layer network interconnects the various subsystems of the substation expediently and efficiently by using the designed protocol conversion model for the poor interoperability of the equipments between the different subsystems of the substation monitoring system, and completes the data integration of the entire monitoring system. The substation layer network uses the XML document format in communication to realize the share of the heterogeneous data.Then, it develops a set of the enterprise-class integrated energy management system, which analyzes the economic operation of the substation, and gets the best combination operation mode of the substation, and comparatively analyzes the total power quantity longitudinally and horizontally in the period of the duty by the work team of the workshop as an unit, which provide a gist to develop appropriate incentive and castigatory measures for the managers, and then achieves the greatest energy management of the work-team-class of the enterprise workshop, and analyzes the extent of the saving energy and reducing consumption of the energy management system, and the economic benefit that it brings.Finally, it achieves the supporting platform of the substation integrated automation system by using the object-oriented programming methods and the programming tools, which has laid a solid foundation to get the real-time operation statements of the substation rapidly, accurately, and completely. The paper still deeply analyzes and researches the achievement technology of the main software such as the data monitoring, operation ticket, intelligent querying, and energy management and so on.The system has been in the safe operation in ShaoGuan Smelter, enduring the test of the various different operation conditions, which has been checked and accepted. The system works stably, reliably, and conveniently, there are many advantages, such as low maintenance, the advanced reliable technology, the powerful function, and the high degree automation, which greatly reduces the labor intensity of the staff, and saves lots of the manpower and the materials. The energy management system in ShaoGuan Smelter has saved energy resource to a large extent, and gained a better social and economic benefit.
