With the development of the power system, the stability and reliability of the electricity are required higher and higher. Substation is one of the most important components of the distribution network. Enhancement of its intergrated automation is very important for economic and social benefits. Aiming to the problems, such as the transimission ruler confusion in Substation automation system and different communication protocol standards, low of data transmission rates, this paper presents a hierarchical distributed Ethernet-based communications network model based on analyzing the characteristics of Ethernet and field bus, which introduces the OPC (OLE for Process Control) technology to the substation integrated automation system. In this paper, power stations integrated automation system is given more detailed analysis, the overall design of the system programmes is put forward and the functional module of monitoring system is analyzed and designed.
